Who is this course for

The Plant & Machinery Height Safety training course is designed for anyone working with plant and machinery, whether operating, servicing, or managing and controlling the use of equipment.

This course focuses on how to tackle working at height on plant and machinery, incorporating the use of height safety equipment where necessary, working in the safest way possible depending on the specific work applications and access requirements.

The ability to work efficiently at height whilst navigating the hazards associated with plant and machinery depends on the level of confidence, ability to work safely, and the ease with which operatives can use the equipment in the given situation.

During these typical activities where physically climbing on the plant is involved, can put the operator at the risk of falling when working at height and therefore comes under the legal requirements and duties of the work at height regulations.

The candidates having passed the course exam will be certificated competent to work safely at height on plant and machinery.

Basic concepts such as the critical importance of correct harness fitting, how to use specific equipment providing necessary levels of access, understanding anchorage requirements and suitability when working on plant, along with general height safety knowledge on what you can and can’t do when working at height on plant and what you can and can’t use when it comes to equipment and suitability for the given application.

What makes this Plant and Machinery course different?

This working at height training course has been developed through our extensive knowledge and experience of plant and machinery, understanding the scope of work undertaken on different equipment, the relative exposure, available access, and the capability of the typical operator. We have specialist instructors holding plant operators licenses and qualified plant and machinery instructors under NPORS ,CITB, and IPAF. The instructors are also senior Leading Edge height safety instructors, making Leading Edge and this course unique.

Plant and Machinery Course Programme - Practical

The candidates will then be taken on-site for practical training and experience while we evaluate each individual's capabilities. This practical assessment will also allow candidates to voice any concerns or issues they may have about their working environment and the equipment they use. Our experienced instructors work closely with your operatives to provide you with accurate, safe 'on the job' solutions.

After the course delegates will be able to work safely at height on plant and machinery. They will have a sound theory of the dangers and awareness of the risks when working at height, and have the practical skills in using the appropriate height safety equipment correctly and safely. The candidates having passed the course exam will be certificated competent to work safely at height on plant and machinery.

On successful completion of the course and examination, candidates will be issued with a Leading Edge Photo ID licence card and certification as proof of their competence and safety awareness.

Our training is plant or machinery specific and so in order to provide the most effective training we deliver courses at your chosen location where the equipment is located. Leading Edge provide direct training both nationwide and internationally, so wherever you are, we can deliver the training courses you need.

Duration - ½ Day (8.30am to 1pm)

Our courses last half a day to ensure candidates receive excellent training and practical assessments. Because our training is held at your work place it will minimise disruption and travelling times so you can maintain your workplace schedule.
