Working at height can seem complex and confusing, how do you know what's legislation and what's good practice and is there a difference. Most importantly of all are you working safely while not impeding productivity? Then there is the moral obligation and the personal issues. Imagine as an employer how you would feel if you were about to explain to a family why their loved one, a member of your workforce has died after falling from height. All too often Leading Edge trainers visit work sites only to find people working at height making the same mistake again and again. The number one mistake Leading Edge trainers see is where companies have incurred the cost of providing safety equipment, however through lack of the required knowledge the worker is using it incorrectly. The worker feels safe but doesn't know that if he falls his protective equipment will fail.
